This market was founded in 1941 right in the centre of town. It has undergone various phases of remodelling work and re-habilitation to adapt it to new consumer needs. The latest improvements to the building were completed in1999. They provide the town and surrounding region with a market that is prepared to face the challenges of the 21st century, with 78 stalls and 200 people to provide fresh products of all kinds straight from the market gardens and the sea.
